Janelle is an in-demand session singer and can be heard singing for many Edmonton, Calgary, and Montreal-based musicians.  She regularly performs with several bands including the young, multitalented Melisizwe Brothers (performed on The Ellen [DeGeneres] Show and for Steve Harvey at the Apollo Theatre and Times Square) and HipHop artist K-Riz (shared the stage with BigBoi from OutKast, Thundercat, and Ne-Yo), as well as performing in an acoustic duo (J&Jo), jazz trios, corporate party bands, and as a solo artist.

She has performed in multiple settings as well as taking the role as lead choreographer for large, high energy, showcase-style concerts.  These include lead vocal and dance performances at the brand new 415-seat Triffo Theatre, 360-seat John L. Haar Theatre, CBC Radio, MacEwan’s Mad Hatters Gala, The Rec Room, and 900 capacity Union Hall, as well as many other Edmonton venues. 

Janelle is also a singer/songwriter who loves exploring a variety of styles, including R&B, Gospel, Soul, HipHop, and Jazz.  Janelle is currently in the writing and recording stages of her first solo EP project. The release date is set for early 2019. 

In 2018, Janelle graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Jazz & Contemporary Music majoring in Vocal Performance at MacEwan University.  During her time at MacEwan University, Janelle also toured Central Canada with MacEwan’s Showcase Band under the direction of Dr. Bill Richards (Chair; Music Dept & Head of Piano and Theory at MacEwan University) and has had the privilege of studying vocal technique under Chandelle Rimmer (Head of Vocal Department at MacEwan University; performed with Tommy Banks, PJ Perry & Sheila Jordan), Rhonda Withnell (featured at two of Canada's premiere jazz clubs; performed alongside Saturday Night Live's Lenny Pickett), Julie Golosky, and Carol-Lynne Quinn (internationally sought-after vocal coach and songwriter; Canada's Music Incubator Vocal Instructor; performed with Mother Mother, USS, Dear Rouge; EMA Rock Recording of the Year).
